Georgia teen murder suspect Sarah Grace Patrick visited in Jail by anguished father: “It doesn’t look good”

The family of double murder suspect Sarah Grace Patrick is breaking their silence, as her father Doniel “DJ” Patrick was seen visiting the 17-year-old in jail, admitting through tears: “It doesn’t look good.”

Photos show DJ Patrick, 43, outside Carroll County Jail on Sunday, looking anguished after visiting Sarah Grace, who has been in custody since July 8.

The teen is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the deaths of her mother, Kristin Brock, 41, and stepfather, James Brock, 45. Both were found shot to death in their home in Carrollton, Georgia, back in February.

“We Believe Her”: Family Shows Support as Investigation Continues

Sarah Grace’s father was joined by his girlfriend Katie and their young son during the visit, which lasted about an hour.

“Sarah Grace maintains her innocence. We believe her,” Katie told DailyMail.com, adding that the family plans to speak to the press after meeting with lawyers.

The teen turned herself in last week, escorted by her father. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow.

On Friday, Sarah’s public defender filed a motion requesting bond, arguing she poses “no threat or flight risk.” A hearing has yet to be scheduled.

Home Searches and Speculation Over Missing Weapon

As part of the investigation, police recently searched multiple homes linked to Sarah Grace and her family, including DJ’s home and a property where Katie once lived. Relatives believe officers may have been looking for the murder weapon, which has not been recovered.

Dennis Nolan, Sarah’s maternal grandfather, speculated that investigators showed DJ crime scene photos, revealing details of the fatal injuries:

  • Kristin was reportedly shot behind the ear, temple, and torso.
  • James was shot in the head and chest.

A Family Divided by Grief and Doubt

While DJ Patrick says he believes his daughter, he’s also admitted privately that the evidence weighs heavily.

“He believes his daughter, he wants to believe her, but he said there’s so much evidence… it don’t look good,” DJ’s mother, Donna Arnett, told DailyMail.com.

According to Arnett, DJ has been overwhelmed with emotion:

“All he can do is cry. He just cries [saying] ‘Mama, these kids been through so much, what am I going to do?’”

She added that Sarah Grace has lost weight in jail and has called her father crying, asking to come home.

“I just pray to God that she wasn’t involved… Like I told my son, if she did that, she needs to pay for it. He agrees. He’s just so distraught.”

Church Community Reacts as Sarah Grace’s Social Media Posts Resurface

DJ and Katie are active members of Catalyst Church in Carrollton, the same church where Kristin and James Brock once served. Pastor Ben Bonner told reporters that the church is supporting the family:

“I actually prayed with Sarah Grace over the phone yesterday. She’s grieving, she’s not faking grief.”

Meanwhile, social media users have been dissecting Sarah Grace’s TikTok posts made in the months following her mother and stepfather’s deaths. From tearful selfies to pleas for justice, she portrayed herself as a grieving daughter, even delivering a tearful eulogy at their funeral.

Now, online true crime communities are revisiting her content, asking how someone could publicly mourn while allegedly being responsible for the crime.

The investigation is ongoing. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has not released further information beyond what was shared in previous press statements.
