Fox News host Sean Hannity has reassured viewers that he is recovering well after concerns about his appearance during a recent television broadcast sparked widespread discussion on social media.
The longtime broadcaster addressed speculation after fans noticed his raspy voice and a noticeably puffier face while hosting his primetime program on Tuesday, June 23.
Hannity Explains the Cause of His Symptoms
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Hannity thanked viewers who reached out to check on him and clarified that his appearance was the result of treatment for a neck injury—not a more serious health issue.
“Thanks to everyone who has checked in,” Hannity wrote.
He explained that he developed a painful pinched nerve in his neck while training and was prescribed prednisone, a corticosteroid commonly used to reduce inflammation.
According to Hannity, the medication has been effective in treating the injury but also caused temporary side effects.
“My doctor put me on prednisone to reduce the inflammation, and while it’s helping, it led to laryngitis and some puffiness, which is normal for this medication.”
The veteran television host added that he is recovering well and has continued his regular training routine despite the discomfort.
Jokes About Social Media Reaction
Known for his direct style, Hannity also injected humor into his update, joking that the online attention surrounding his appearance had become unexpectedly intense.
“Apparently a few weeks of prednisone has generated more social media commentary than 30 years of ratings success.”
He thanked supporters for their concern and even acknowledged messages from political opponents.
“I appreciate everyone’s concern and well wishes, including from members of the left-wing media.”
Hannity ended his statement on a lighthearted note.
“Sorry to disappoint them, but a pinched nerve, a raspy voice, and a puffy face aren’t taking me out anytime soon.”
Hannity Previously Discussed His Health on Radio
The Fox News host had already addressed his condition during his nationally syndicated radio program, where he shared additional details about his diagnosis.
He explained that doctors initially determined he was suffering from a severe sinus infection, which eventually led to laryngitis.
Hannity admitted he was initially reluctant to begin taking prednisone.
“I didn’t want to take this crappy medicine called prednisone,” he said, adding that his doctor advised him the condition would not permanently damage his vocal cords and encouraged him to allow the illness to run its course.
Fans React After Viral Broadcast
Concern among viewers grew after clips and screenshots from Hannity’s Tuesday night broadcast circulated widely across social media.
During the program, Hannity was covering the results of several key primary elections, but many viewers focused on changes in his voice and facial appearance instead.
The discussion quickly spread online, prompting questions about his health before Hannity publicly explained the situation.
Host Says He Is Recovering Well
Despite the temporary side effects caused by his medication, Hannity emphasized that his condition is improving and that he expects to make a full recovery.
His update appears to have reassured many viewers who had expressed concern, with supporters wishing him well as he continues both his broadcasting schedule and his personal fitness training.
For now, Hannity says there is no reason for alarm—and he has no plans to step away from the microphone anytime soon.
