Whoopi Goldberg is on stage again!
The actress and television personality, 69, joined her The View co-host Joy Behar, 82, in her Off-Broadway play My First Ex-Husband for a special performance on Wednesday, April 30.
Goldberg starred in the show alongside Behar, Frasier alum Marsha Mason, Grease actress Marilu Henner and former Saturday Night Live cast member Julia Sweeney.
My First Ex-Husband is currently playing at MMAC Theatre in New York City, after opening on Feb. 6.
The group of five posed for a picture timed to the performance. In the snap, they stood in front of a red backdrop with the show’s logo. Goldberg smiled widely as she wore a black blazer over a black top and light blue jeans. To her right, Behar was in an all black ensemble that included a black blazer with a jewel design on the arm. The playwright rested her hand on Goldberg’s shoulder for the sweet picture.

They were surrounded by Marsha in a silk off-the-shoulder top and black pants, Sweeney in a black collared shirt and black bottoms and Henner in a short black dress with a jewel flower design.
My First Ex-Husband “explores the messy, hilarious truths of love, sex, and relationships,” per an official synopsis. As relatable as it is outrageous, the 80-minute comedy offers something for anyone. “Whether you’re happily coupled, cautiously committed, or considering changing the locks, relationships are complicated—and universally relatable. These stories are your stories, only funnier,” the description continues.
The play cycles through a rotating cast of stage and screen stars. The show opened with four time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh, Orange Is the New Black breakout Adrienne C. Moore, Behar’s longtime best friend Susie Essman and Behar.
The next round of actresses included Emmy winner Susan Lucci, comedian Judy Gold, Oscar nominee Cathy Moriarty and Tony winner Tonya Pinkins. Then, stage veteran Jackie Hoffman, film star Gina Gershon, Tony nominee Veanne Cox and Jane the Virgin alumna Andrea Navedo led the show until April 20.
The cast currently includes Mason, Henner, Sweeney and Benja Kay Thomas, with Lana Young as an understudy, Behar announced Goldberg’s guest spot on the April 23 broadcast of The View. “Next week, the one and only Miss Whoopi Goldberg will be joining the cast of my Off-Broadway play, My First Ex-Husband, for just one performance because she’s too busy to do more,” the co-host shared.

“It’s going to be next Wednesday matinee,” she said at the time, adding that she will also be joining the cast for the matinee performance for the following two weeks. Behar’s next two performances will be May 7 and May 14.

Behar was surrounded by her loved ones on opening night. A slew of her past and present co-hosts from The View, including Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, Sherri Shepherd, Ana Navarro, Star Jones and Sara Haines, were all in attendance.
Goldberg was absent, although she wished Behar the best on The View.
The EGOT winner recently graced the stage as the infamous Miss Hannigan in the New York City run of the Annie national tour. Speaking with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview, Goldberg joked she felt out of practice after having made her Broadway debut over 40 years ago in her namesake one-woman show.
“I’m rusty, trust me,” she said at the time. “I won’t be as rusty when you see me, but the old bones are creaking as I move.”
Over the course of her career, Goldberg has played several iconic stage roles, such as the title character in the 2003 Broadway revival of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Prologus and Pseudolus in the 1996 Broadway revival of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Calliope and Aphrodite in the 2008 Broadway production of Xanadu.
