On Friday, President Donald Trump declared that he would be empowering federal immigration officers with enhanced authority to confront far-left mobs that have been violently obstructing immigration enforcement efforts in California and other areas governed by Democrats.
Following an assessment of the devastation caused by last week’s catastrophic flooding in Central Texas, Trump remarked on the anti-ICE riots that occurred in Ventura, California, on Thursday. This incident reflects a recurring issue in certain regions of California, Seattle, and beyond, where a far-left mob encircled agents during a raid on a marijuana farm in Camarillo.
The mob engaged in confrontations with the agents and hurled rocks at their vehicles, while at least one rioter discharged multiple rounds from a handgun towards them.
“I am returning from Texas and witnessed in disbelief as THUGS violently hurled rocks and bricks at ICE Officers while they were traveling down a roadway in their car and/or official vehicle. Significant damage was inflicted on these brand new vehicles,” the president shared on Truth Social. “I am fully aware that these Officers are struggling with permitting this to occur, as it demonstrates a complete lack of respect for LAW AND ORDER.”
In reaction, the president instructed White House border czar Tom Homan and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to empower any federal officer who “is subjected to thrown rocks, bricks, or any other form of assault, to halt their vehicle and apprehend these SLIMEBALLS, utilizing whatever means necessary to accomplish this.”
Trump emphasized that he is providing “total authorization” for ICE agents to defend themselves by any means required. “I never want to witness a vehicle carrying a Law Enforcement Officer being attacked again! AUTHORIZATION IMMEDIATELY GRANTED FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
The authorization is issued as Democratic leaders in California persist in obstructing immigration enforcement activities.
On Friday, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass declared that the city will extend financial assistance to its undocumented immigrant population. “It is essential for me to establish an executive directive to guide our city in safeguarding itself against our federal government,” Bass remarked during a press conference. “What we have observed over the past six weeks of unexpected raids is that we are often unaware of when and where they will occur.
“The directive will assist city employees in understanding how to interact with immigration officials if they approach a city department,” she continued. The order also directs city agencies to develop contingency plans to effectively adhere to the city’s “sanctuary” policies.
Furthermore, Bass revealed that the city will distribute cards containing a “couple hundred dollars” to undocumented immigrants targeted by enforcement actions in the coming days. The mayor clarified that these funds will not be sourced from the city budget, but instead from “philanthropic partners.”
