Buc-ee’s Announces 15 New Locations Through 2031 as America’s Favorite Road Trip Stop Continues Rapid Expansion

Buc-ee’s, the beloved Texas-born travel center famous for its spotless restrooms, oversized stores, and iconic beaver mascot, is continuing its nationwide expansion with plans to open 15 new locations across the United States through 2031.

The announcement comes as the company celebrates the opening of its newest—and largest western—travel center in Arizona, further cementing its reputation as one of America’s fastest-growing convenience store chains.

From Texas Gas Station to Road Trip Phenomenon

Founded in 1982, Buc-ee’s started as a small convenience store offering Texans a clean, reliable place to refuel.

Over the past four decades, the company has transformed into a roadside destination in its own right, attracting millions of travelers with enormous travel centers, freshly prepared food, extensive gift shops, and its unmistakable mascot, Buc-ee, the smiling beaver wearing a red-and-yellow baseball cap.

Most Buc-ee’s locations span between 50,000 and 74,000 square feet, making them among the largest convenience stores in the world.

Visitors often stop not only for fuel but also for Texas barbecue, homemade fudge, Beaver Nuggets, fresh pastries, jerky, kolaches, and countless souvenir items.

Three New Stores Opening in 2026

Buc-ee’s has confirmed that three new travel centers are scheduled to open later this year:

  • San Marcos, Texas — August 12
  • Benton, Arkansas — August 17
  • Murfreesboro, Tennessee — November 16

These openings continue the company’s steady expansion beyond its Texas roots.

Expansion Plans Through 2031

Beyond this year’s openings, Buc-ee’s confirmed that an additional 12 locations are currently under development.

Planned Openings for 2027

  • Ruston, Louisiana
  • Kansas City, Kansas
  • Gallaway, Tennessee
  • St. Lucie, Florida
  • Boerne, Texas
  • Monroe County, Georgia

Planned Openings for 2028

While the company has not yet announced exact opening dates or street addresses for most of these projects, officials confirmed that all remain in active development.

Arizona Welcomes Its First Buc-ee’s

This week marked another milestone for the company with the grand opening of its first Arizona location in Goodyear, a rapidly growing suburb west of Phoenix.

The massive 74,000-square-foot travel center features 120 fuel pumps, making it the largest Buc-ee’s location in the western United States.

Located at 1001 N. Bullard Avenue, the new store is strategically positioned to serve travelers heading between Phoenix and Southern California.

“We couldn’t have picked a better location for our first store in the Grand Canyon State,” said Stan Beard of Buc-ee’s.

“Perfectly positioned for travelers heading to California or exploring the Phoenix area, Goodyear will become an essential stop along the journey.”

More Than Just a Gas Station

Like every Buc-ee’s location, the Goodyear travel center offers much more than fuel.

Customers can enjoy the chain’s signature Texas barbecue, homemade fudge, fresh bakery items, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, kolaches, and a wide variety of snacks and souvenirs.

The store also operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring travelers always have access to food, fuel, and restrooms regardless of the time.

City officials in Goodyear expect the opening to attract up to 40,000 vehicles during opening day and throughout the first week of operation, highlighting the enormous popularity of the brand.

Buc-ee’s Continues Its Nationwide Growth

Following the Arizona opening, Buc-ee’s now operates 56 locations across the United States.

In addition to its extensive presence throughout Texas, the company now serves customers in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

With another 15 locations already planned, Buc-ee’s shows no signs of slowing down as it continues transforming the traditional gas station into one of America’s most recognizable road trip destinations.
