At 74 years old, Colleen Heidemann is an amazing fashionista who challenges ageism and won’t give in to a judgmental society that claims her trendy outfits are ‘not suitable for her age.’
With her fantastic physique that she works hard to keep in shape, Colleen Heidemann is a stunning grandma who began modeling at 68 and appeared on the cover of Vogue six years later.
Heidemann, inspired by the ‘iconic beauty and graceful presence’ of timeless stars like Jacqueline Kennedy, Grace Kelly, and Elizabeth Taylor, says she ‘fights against’ ageism every single day.
‘A tough reality is that women age so differently than men, and with menopause comes the ‘Age of Irrelevance!’ she shared in an interview with DSCENE. ‘Well, I’d rather it be seen as an ‘Age of Enlightenment,’ where we understand how much wonderful stuff we still have to learn, feel, think, experience, and yes, laugh about. So let’s not lose hope but keep moving forward, keep doing things, keep living!’
The former flight attendant who became a model and actress—she’s been in the movie Father of Flies (2021) and the 2020 TV series Last Looks with Dakota Fanning—admits she hasn’t always felt confident. She said, ‘I haven’t always been, nor did I have the strength to be as positive as I want and choose to be today. Time, experience, and a true wish for change are such valuable gifts.’
As a role model for many generations, the Vogue Portugal cover star has nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram, and her TikTok page has 4.1 million likes.
The media star grabs the attention of the online community with her down-to-earth personality and bold fashion choices–like miniskirts, ripped jeans, and thigh-high heels–along with her tips on fashion and beauty, reminding everyone that beauty has no age limit.
When asked to explain her style, Heidemann said, “I don’t have just one style because I wear things now that I wouldn’t have picked when I was younger. I don’t box myself into one image but like to choose from a variety of options… I know what I like when I see it and can tell right away how it will look on me.”
In early June, the senior beauty shared a TikTok video with Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” playing in the background. The viral video, which has 1.4 million likes, shows her getting her makeup done, with bright blue eyeliner and red lipstick. The caption reads: “I just never know what the makeup will show.
