When a little boy says that he and a classmate look like twins, the teacher sends a pic of the duo to the mother, who gets shocked

Myles and his buddy are inseparable best friends in kindergarten. The boys had not yet played at each other’s homes, but they had spent a significant amount of time together at school.

When “Twin Day” arrived at school, Myles knew exactly who he wanted to pair up with. But, as a kindergartener, Myles remembered to tell Mom Britney Tankersley about Twin Day and that he wished to be paired with his friend Tanner at bedtime.

Myles insisted on how similar he and his friend truly looked and that they had to be twins for the day.

Mom Britney was initially irritated. She had no idea who this classmate was, no way to contact his mother, and no matching outfits.

“He went on and on about how similar they were. “We both have brown eyes and dark hair,” he insisted, “so I go to Walmart and I’m like, irritated.” This is too late, I think. “I’m getting too old for this.”

Britney spent an hour attempting to locate Myles’ friend’s mother before heading to the store near their home in Alabama around 9 p.m. She discovered two adorable plaids “Future Leader” button-down shirts in their sizes.

Britney was desperate for a photo of herself after all of her post-bedtime scavenging for a Twin Day outfit. She requested that Myles’ teacher take a quick picture of her son and his twin for the day.

Myles, who has a cochlear implant, kept insisting that he and his buddy Tanner were twins and looked eerily similar, so she couldn’t wait to see them in their matching clothes.

Britney was taken aback when the teacher sent her the photo.

“Obviously, two very different children,” Myles observed. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all see the world through the eyes of a couple of five-year-olds?”

She burst into tears at that point.

“I was practically in tears because it was so touching.” Obviously, I know they don’t resemble each other at all. But he didn’t notice, you know? “I expected to see a photo of another white child with light skin and brown hair or something, but I didn’t.” And I said to myself, “That is the sweetest thing in the entire world.”

Tankersley posted the picture on her personal Facebook page, where it has since gone viral with over 250,000 shares.

“It’s insane. “My goal is to avoid being in the spotlight, but I believe the message is more important than how much it exploded.”

Myles and Tanner are “the best of buddies,” according to Tankersley, and they only live a few minutes apart. The families have been able to spend time together since Twin Day, allowing the boys to have a playdate outside of school hours.

Tanner and Myles’ matching outfits delighted the teachers at school. They all agreed that it was a touching moment.

“There are always a lot of kids who dress up who don’t look alike, but this was special.” “I was put in my place because I was expecting something completely different, which was not the case.”

Britney is correct in saying that if we all saw the world through the eyes of a child, it would be a much better place. “Truly, I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven,” says Matthew 18:3.
