The NBC network is slowly revealing which shows on the television station will be getting a new season and which beloved series would be getting the boot
As May approaches, TV fans will begin to be informed about which of their favorite shows will be getting another season and which will be getting cut.
In NBC’s case, the network looks to have many shows that seem to be in limbo since there aren’t many shows on the station that have been renewed or canceled. However, in the midst of NBC choosing the shows they want on-air this year, these programs are the ones people can get excited over. Despite sitcoms struggling across broadcast networks, sitcoms on NBC are doing well, hence why the TV station is renewing both of its new comedies.
St. Denis Medical was one of the first shows to be renewed across all broadcast networks.
Shortly after the show premiere, it was evident that the show was going to be it, and it has since proved it is.
It’s now the most-viewed comedy on NBC in the average demo, according to TV Series Finale.
Happy’s Place is also the most-watched comedy on the network in the average total audience, therefore, the series earned a renewal.
Reba McEntire heads a stellar cast, and now that the first season is over, fans can be excited that more will be coming from Happy’s Place after summer break.
Although NBC hasn’t renewed everything yet, some shows are anticipated to be renewed.
The expectation stems from the shows having strong linear ratings, and a very loyal fan base.
Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order, and Night Court, are some of the shows that are most likely to be safe and up for another season on NBC.
NBC’s competitor, ABC, has given the green light to all its scripted shows for another season, except for one.
Eagled-eye fans noticed that The Rookie: Feds wasn’t included in the network’s lineup for renewed shows, which ignited much upset over it being cut.
For ABC, the fan-favorite shows returning include 9-1-1 for Season 8, Abbott Elementary for Season 5, and Grey’s Anatomy for Season 22.
Additionally, High Potential and Shifting Gears are up for their respective second seasons.
Meanwhile, The Rookie is set for its eighth season, and Will Trent will be going into its fourth.
However, the Rookie spinoff series The Rookie: Feds didn’t get another season.
