Every year, a senior citizen couple poses for a picture in front of their home, but the most recent one is deeply upsetting…

This elderly couple came up with a unique concept to convey their love story via photography in 1973.

They decided to take a picture in front of their garden throughout each of the four seasons of the year, standing together through all types of weather: whether it is raining or the sun is shining; whether flowers are blossoming or leaves are dropping or everything in between; these duo are always there for each other.

Journalist Ken Griffiths was the one who took these photographs back in 1973, when the tradition was just getting started.

The beginnings of their love story appear in the early spring.

When they are together, the warmth of their smiles is like a gentle breeze on a summer day.

Winter brings about a change in the surrounding environment, but the couple’s happiness is unaffected just because they are together.

Flowers bloom with a sweetness that matches the joy that is in their hearts.

The same smiles of love appear to light up the garden even when it’s chilly and wet outside; he yet gives chivalrous protection to his love, who occupies a particular place in his life.

His grin has faded since he has parted ways with his partner, yet she may continue to provide him solace and act as an endless spring in his heart.

Even though he will never again see her beautiful smile, he will always feel the love they had in his heart.

Our loved ones will always be there for us, even if we aren’t always aware of it, even when they are far away.
