Before her sad death, Meg Bennett, known for playing Brooke on “The Young and the Restless,” spent her final years raising money for good causes. The actress passed away after a long battle with cancer at the age of 75.
In her later years, Meg focused on supporting the Alzheimer’s Association. She frequently wrote about the group on her Facebook page, encouraging fans to donate. In her last post on September 28, 2023, she said, “This year for my birthday, I’d like people to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.”
Meg also contributed to the American Cancer Society, the Greater Good Charities, and the Entertainment Community Fund, consistently urging her fans to support these causes.
Born on October 4, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, Meg pursued drama at Northwestern University. Her big break came in the off-Broadway musical “Godspell” before moving to Broadway in “Grease.” She started her soap opera career in 1974 with “Search for Tomorrow” and later starred in “The Young and the Restless.”
Meg married Robert Guza Jr. in 2004. She leaves behind Robert, her brother, sister, two stepdaughters, four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her obituary noted, “Meg lost her cancer fight. She worked hard with kids, wrote, and spent time with her faraway family and friends.”
