Studies Reveal This Facial Feature Can Help Identify a Narcissist

Recognizing a narcissist can be challenging since they often appear charming. However, recent research suggests that eyebrows can offer a clue. A University of Toronto study found that people with “distinctive eyebrows,” such as thicker and denser ones, often display narcissistic traits. When researchers swapped the eyebrows of narcissists onto non-narcissists, observers incorrectly labeled the non-narcissists as narcissistic.

Narcissists tend to focus heavily on their appearance, which might explain why they groom their eyebrows meticulously. They may also show subtle facial twitches when criticized.

Narcissists are manipulative, selfish, and lack empathy, often using others for their own gain. It’s essential to distinguish between narcissistic traits and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), a more severe condition.

If you suspect someone has NPD, encourage them to seek professional help. However, managing relationships with narcissists can be difficult, and distance may be necessary.
