On the episode of Sunday Today that aired on December 4, the cross-genre talent explained what it was like to welcome son Hayes Andrew in March 2020 as the world was shutting down, experiencing quarantine while struggling with postpartum depression. The conversation took place with Willie Geist.

The singer admitted, “I think there were a lot of identity issues that took place there.”

It was stated by Morris, “Not only was she a new mother, but she was also a new parent, and she was suffering with postpartum depression for the first time. She was reeling from the effects of that, and she was trying to find the big picture within the details. But more than that, just being aware of my own value, even without applause from others.”
