Rihanna flexed her philanthropic muscles last night, joining the likes of Paris Hilton and Cardi B at a charity event in West Hollywood. But while her famous peers opted for glitzier looks, Rih mixed a classic black dress with a funky leather coat.
The singer and entrepreneur opted for a conservative black dress: a long-sleeved, mock-necked maxi. But Rihanna is never one to play it safe. Over her body-hugging shroud, she added a statement-making leather jacket. The coat was complete with eye-catching features, from the multi-tiered ruching at the waistband to the wing-like draped sleeves and graphics on the back.

Mindful that it was a dressier event, though, Rihanna added some more formal touches to her outfit, including a strappy, barely-there heel. She opted for a dramatic makeup look, and ditched last week’s blonde pixie cut for a French twist.
Always one to keep us on our toes, we love to see Rihanna’s out-of-the-box style. Who’s to say we won’t see leather jackets in more people’s interpretations of formalwear going forward?
