Drew Barrymore is a child actress, Charlie’s Angel, romcom star, single parent, TV host, and owner of one of Hollywood’s most spectacular Instagram accounts. Drew decided to put off starting a new relationship following her divorce, and after 6 years of being single, she spoke openly about how difficult it can be to create romantic relationships when you have children.
We took a trip down memory lane with the actress, looking at her personal life and everything she went through to finally realize and accept her genuine self. It was a difficult path, but not without its rewards.
Concerning her romantic relationships
Drew started her acting career at a young age. She’s been in the spotlight since she was a child, and her relationships have not gone ignored. In 1989, Barrymore was 14 years old when she began dating 1980s sensation Corey Feldman. They only dated for a few months after meeting on an episode of CBS Schoolbreak Special.
Feldman stated in his memoir that his first date with Barrymore was actually much earlier, when he was 14 and Drew was 10. Barrymore’s mother, who also served as her daughter’s manager, brought the two young stars together.

The Charlie’s Angels actress was reportedly said to have dated Oscar winner Christian Bale. Drew also started dating David Arquette in 1991. The pair split up after only a few months, yet they remained close friends. David and Drew met on the set of the horror film Scream, where they portrayed brother and sister in Never Been Kissed.
The actress has officially been married three times. Drew married Jeremy Thomas in 1994, when she was only 19 years old. After only two months, the couple filed for divorce. Barrymore began dating Canadian comedian Tom Green, who co-starred with her in Charlie’s Angels, in 1999. They were married in July 2001 and divorced six months later.
Although things did not progress to the point of marriage with fellow actor Justin Long, the couple did appear together in two romcoms: He’s Just Not That Into You and Going the Distance. And, following the breakup, good old Barrymore tradition demanded that the former lovers remain amicable.
Drew married Will Kopelman, the son of former Chanel CEO, in January 2012. Only five months later, they married. The couple had two daughters, Olive and Frankie, during their marriage. They did, however, decide to divorce in April 2016.
Drew confessed that the divorce was her biggest nightmare: “I so wanted to raise kids in this ultra-traditional way, doing everything so polar opposite of my experience.” The journey isn’t what you hoped for or expected, and you just have to find it out, and figure it out gracefully.”
The year following her marriage’s separation brought Barrymore many tears, but after much thought, Instead of fighting, she opted to express love and gratitude for everything that had transpired in her life.. Drew and Will, ex-spouses and true friends, are now prospering as co-parents.
Drew has a very open heart, there’s no mistake about it. Not only does the actress have a friendly connection with her ex-husband, but she also knows his current wife, Alexandra Michler. On Halloween, the three of them took the kids trick-or-treating. Alexandra was also described as “lovely and a wonderful stepmother to her children” by Barrymore.
Barrymore is thriving both creatively and professionally. The actress appears to have landed her dream job as a TV host. She is nothing but herself on the midday talk show, interviewing celebrity guests, and the audience loves it. Barrymore’s show premiered on CBS in 2020 and has already been renewed for a third season.
But on a personal level, things haven’t gotten better. Barrymore admitted to Howard Stern that it’s hard to find love right now. After breaking up with the father of her children, the actress has never been in a serious relationship, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t tried.
Drew admits that it took her a few years to adjust to the idea of a love “rebirth.” However, the actress is now actively using dating apps: “I’m delighted I’m able to have some fun again.” I believe I am in the best place I have ever been, and it has taken me a long time to get here. Life is a disaster, man, and I’m finally proud of who I am.”
Drew is pleased to accept wedding invites (for example, she attended Britney Spears’ high-profile nuptials), but she does not want to be married. She spoke quite strongly about her online dating experience in an interview with CBS. The actress was so open that she couldn’t help but cry.
“I’m not there yet,” Barrymore acknowledged of her inability to maintain a personal life while raising children. I don’t want to bring strangers home because I have two small daughters. It would take me a long time to meet and get to know someone before I could introduce them to my girls. I’d live with someone again if I didn’t have kids, but there’s no way. I’ll never, ever, ever get married.”

Drew speaks candidly and openly about her relationship and parenting experiences. This bright and successful young woman reminds us that, while love is difficult to find in today’s world, the journey itself is rewarding.
Barrymore possesses a wide range of abilities. Her sense of humor is also not absent. Consider her reaction to Leonardo DiCaprio’s article about global warming: “You should be the only hot one, not our earth!” The Oscar winner may have ignored her comment, but we all know Drew Barrymore is our gal.
Children bring joy.
Drew prioritizes his family. She doesn’t show off her girls, but she doesn’t hide them from her Charlie’s Angels co-stars, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu. On set, the women became friends and have an excellent relationship. They all have children of varying ages and are happy to exchange family photos.
Drew couldn’t hold back her tears during a special edition of her show on International Women’s Day, calling her girls her greatest source of inspiration. She has a tight and cordial relationship with them, but she has no plans to include them in her brand. “I started working when I was a baby.” It was that awful sob story when I was 13 years old. My entire universe revolves around these two girls. My life with my children, my feelings, are all on the table—but not Olive and Frankie.”
Drew likes the basic pleasures of life in addition to her profession, personal life, and parenthood. A recent popular video, for example, shows the actress enjoying the rain. Many bloggers have covered the video or shared it on their pages, expressing how they hope they could enjoy and cherish life as much as she does. Barrymore has a wonderful sense of positivity about the world!
