One of the longest-lasting marriages in Hollywood is that of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. The pair has already been wed for 25 years. But their connection is anything but typical. The Smiths, who have been married for almost 20 years, recently disclosed that their is open, allowing them to continue dating while still being a couple. They remain in love with one another in spite of this.

In 1990, Will and Jada initially spoke.
When they first met in 1990, Will Smith was 22 and Jada Pinkett was 19. The teenage actress attended an audition for the part of Will’s girlfriend after being handed the lead role in the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Unfortunately, Jada’s height prevented her from landing the role because Will is considerably taller than she.
It was love at first sight, as Will remarked later. However, they were just pals at the moment.
They began dating five years later.
Will and Jada started dating five years following their initial encounter. The actor was now divorced from his first wife, Sheree Zampino, who had given birth to a son, Trey, in 1992. (in the left photo). Will didn’t believe in divorce, but after meeting Jada, he came to the conclusion that his wife wasn’t the right partner for him.
In 1997, the couple vows.
Will and Jada were engaged after dating for a year, but there was no information provided. In 1997, the marriage was formally consummated, but Jada had a difficult time. Since Jada was three months pregnant, the wedding went badly since she felt awful. Jada, who didn’t even want to be married since she didn’t see the point, was persuaded to do so by her mother, who wanted to attend her daughter’s wedding.
Jada and Will had two kids together.
The couple had their daughter Willow in 2000 and their first son, Jaden, in 1998. Later, their father co-starred in movies with both of the children. Jaden pursued the acting and singing careers of his famous parents, while Willow preferred modeling and presenting.
The couple said that their marriage was open.
According to Will, his marriage to his wife started off traditional and monogamous, but at some point, the two “felt miserable at the same time” and decided to switch up their communication style. Even though it looked strange, they started going out in public with other partners, which didn’t mean they were getting a divorce but rather that their relationship had changed. After many years of being together, both parties came to the conclusion that “marriage can’t be a prison,” therefore their decision was consensual.
Jada had dated another man for a while.
Jada verified the speculations that she was dating American musician August Alsina in the year 2020. About 4.5 years ago, according to Jada, she had an affair with the musician. She and Smith split up around the time of this affair.
She said of her connection with August, “I just wanted to feel good, it had been so long since I felt happy. However, their relationship was very fleeting, and Jada eventually came to the conclusion that “you can’t find happiness outside of yourself.”
They are still in love with one another despite having an open marriage.
Despite their open relationship, they continue to be each other’s primary caregivers. The pair refers to their as a life partnership rather than a marriage. Will once said, “There’s nothing that could happen that we wouldn’t be together and love one other.” We hope that this friendship will always be there since, as they both say, “We ride together, we die together”!
