Reba McEntire was featured on the news for something she said about pop star Taylor Swift. A report appeared online claiming that the country singer called Swift ‘an entitled brat’, and now Reba is finally addressing this claim.

A report took over the internet, which caused Reba McEntire to respond to the claims being made. The singer shared a screenshot from a page titled “America Loves Liberty” and it contained the following text, “Reba McIntire talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event. ‘I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat.’”
Reba McEntire has set the record straight about what has really happened. The country music icon saw a report that said she called Taylor Swift “an entitled little brat” at the Super Bowl and denied ever having said such a thing.
McEntire took to Instagram to address the false report. “Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet,” she told her Instagram followers, adding a screenshot of the report. “I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry,”
The post misspelled McEntire’s last name which prompted a comment from her longtime friend and co-star on Reba, Melissa Peterman. She commented, “They spelled your name McIntire. So made up story AND a lazy proofreader! 😂”
The 68-year-old country singer and icon sang her version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of this year’s Super Bowl, in which the Kansas City Chiefs faced off with the San Francisco 49ers. The show came almost 50 years after the singer was initially discovered singing the same anthem during the 1974 National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City. During the telecast of the Super Bowl, Swift was not shown when McEntire was performing. Swift’s current boyfriend, Travis Kelce was shown on the sidelines during the performance with his hand over his heart as he swayed side to side.
Swift was shown during Post Malone’s performance of America the Beautiful. She was seem on screens hugging actress Blake Lively, as both women burst into giggles after seemingly catching sight of themselves on the jumbotron.
McEntire has been a longtime fan of the Chiefs, and when news of Swift and Kelce dating made headlines, she joked about being “so mad” that Swift was dating her ‘crush.’
“Oh, my gosh, I am so mad at her because I had a crush on him,” McEntire said to Today.com jokingly. “Now I can’t have a crush anymore because he’s dating her.”
She went further to say that she was “so devastated” while referring to Travis Kelce as her “boyfriend that cheated on” her. All of this was, of course, said in jest!
McEntire herself has been dating Rex Linn since 2020. Her boyfriend is well aware of her affinity for Kelce and his teammate, Patrick Mahomes.
“When he and Taylor started dating, Rex said, ‘Your boyfriend’s got another girlfriend,’” McEntire shared. “I said, ‘Rub it in.’”
McEntire has no ill will against Swift, infact last December she was seen singing the singer’s praises on NBC’s TikTok.
“The very first time I ever heard Taylor sing live was on the CMA Awards, she was singing ‘Tim McGraw,’ playing the guitar,” McEntire recalled. “I’m like, ‘This girl’s gonna be a huge star.’”
She went on, “I was impressed.”
It is such a relief that Reba McEntire clarified this hurtful news. What do you think of this story? Let us know in the comments below.
