Critics Attack Mom Who Serves Dinner On Tinfoil Every Night To Avoid Doing Dishes

Rebecca Cubberly will never have to wash dinner plates ever again. However, this mother’s life hack attracted a lot of scorn from social media users after she posted the trick to her account online. The woman, who hails from Telford, Shropshire in the United Kingdom, has come up with a way to avoid doing dishes when her family sits down for their dinner – she simply covers each plate with a sheet of aluminum foil as a way of avoiding doing dishes ever again.

Many people want to do fewer dishes at the end of the night. However, there is really no way around the chore if you use dinner plates and cutlery. That’s why mother Rebecca Cubberly doesn’t hand out knives and forks when she sets the table for dinner – and she covers each plate with tinfoil so she can simply crush it up when she’s done and toss it into the wastebasket.

However, the 28-year-old mother attracted venomous criticism for contributing waste to the world. People feel that she is using too much aluminum foil for her entire family because she puts it across each plate and then asks her family to help themselves by eating with their fingers.

As a mom of two, Cubberly already has her hands full with various chores and errands. She simply wants to save some time by reducing the number of dishes she has to clean at the end of the day.

“We like picky meals and this way is more fun and the clean up afterward was great, I had a knife and a chopping board to clean,” she said.

The meal that is displayed in the image here was cooked with an air fryer so she didn’t have to do extra dishes by cooking it on the stovetop. In addition, she didn’t hand out utensils because she didn’t want to have to wash them at the end of the meal. Instead, she urged her family of five to just use their fingers to pick at the food and create their meals with whatever it is they want to eat.

Cubberly claimed that she saved herself thirty minutes of cleaning time by using this life hack. After dinner, she sent her husband, Karl, to the bathroom where he bathed her children, Jack, six, and Evie, four, while mom relaxed and took some much-deserved me-time.

“I normally spend about half an hour cleaning up after a meal like that and it’s a long time to spend cooking and cleaning after a long day. It was that easy I told my husband to do bath time and I’d tidy up. I thought, ‘There is no washing up, so I’ll do it tonight and he can have the difficult job of doing bath time.’”

Cubberly’s children loved the aluminum foil so much, she FaceTimed with grandma to show off her skills.

“We’ll 100 percent be doing it again, we’ll be trying it with lots of different things like pizza and plowman’s or when we have a picky tea or when I’m just not in the mood to wash up.”
