Scotty McCreery Leads Cast Of Country Singers In Cover Of ‘Angels Among Us’

The Timeless Song That Surprisingly Wasn’t A Success

Alabama‘s “Angels Among Us” is one of the legendary country group’s most well-known songs. But despite popular belief, it wasn’t a big hit when it was released.

Believe it or not, the song only reached the 51st spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart when it was first released. The song experienced greater success the following year, but still never climbed higher than the 22nd spot.

The passage of time led fans to develop a greater sense of fondness for the song. Now, it’s often one of the first songs someone thinks of when they think of Alabama:

The group’s lead singer, Randy Owen, spoke of its impact during an interview for canone.com, saying that the band has received “hundreds of letters from all over the world saying that the song was a blessing.”

Country Stars Join To Help St. Jude’s Patients

Now, over two decades after “Angels Among Us” was released, a cast of talented country stars gathered to offer up a new rendition of the tune…and all for a good cause. Led by Scotty McCreery, artists such as Sara Evans, Carly Pearce, and RaeLynn stepped into the studio to record an ensemble cover of the song.

The reason all of these artists came together was in support of the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Because of this, several St. Jude’s children can be seen in the music video for the new “Angels Among Us” cover. You’re sure to smile as you watch the artists sing and interact with the children.

This video has to be one of the most heartwarming things we’ve seen or heard in some time. We’re sure you’ll think the same once you watch it below.

We think these guys and gals did Alabama proud with their rendition of “Angels Among Us.”

Although Alabama originally wrote and released Angels Among Us as a country Christmas song, it has recently received a new lease on life, and we like it! In 2017, Radio Disney and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital joined forces for a worthy cause. They enlisted the help of a couple of well-known country musicians to record a cover of the song.

Carly Pearce, Hunter Hayes, Brennley Brown, CB30, Jillian Jacqueline, Lucy Hale, RaeLynn, Sara Evans, Scotty McCreery, Tegan Marie, and Temecula Road all contributed to the song’s success. The bid lyrics, which reach out to pacify people in need, are what really connect with listeners.

St. Jude went one step further and fulfilled some young people’s dreams by taking them to the studio! For the kids, meeting the musicians and spending the whole day watching them record, listening through earphones, and experimenting with the audio gear was a dream come true.

St. Jude’s mission is to help children and to put an end to pediatric cancer forever. Since it began, its website says, the number of children who survive cancer has gone from 20% to more than 80%.

When they work with committed institutions like Disney, talented artists, and a giving community, they truly believe they can make a difference. Isn’t it amazing what we can achieve when we all work together?

Listeners were encouraged to support efforts to raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer in the brand-new version, which aired on Radio Disney. According to the video description, it was a huge hit, and as a result of its success, Disney was able to donate $25,000 to St. Jude. Isn’t that wonderful?

Thanks to these amazing performers, Radio Disney, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital were able to greatly advance the fight against pediatric cancer. Watch this video to see how much fun they had while recording the song.
