Stewardess, 20, Found Dead On Billionaire’s Yacht With ‘Gashes To Neck And Arms’ – The Hook news

A stewardess aged 20 was found dead on a billionaire’s yacht with ‘gashed to neck and arms’.

Paige Bell from Johannesburg was tragically found dead and partially undressed onboard the luxury yacht where she worked in the engine room.

Her body had ‘gashes to neck and arms’, her throat was reportedly slashed and she had defensive wounds on her arms, suggesting that she tried to fight off her attacker.

A 39-year-old engineer who was working on board has been charged with her murder. The Mexican national was discovered standing next to her body, covered in her blood, wielding a knife. He had slashes on both his wrists – which police believe had been an attempted suicide.

Officers were called to the scene at 1pm on July 3 where they found him bleeding heavily but still alive, next to her body.

A spokesperson for the Bahamas police shared: “We are investigating a murder and a suspected suicide attempt after a woman from South Africa was found dead on a yacht at Harbour Island. According to a preliminary report, shortly after 1:00 pm on July 3, the police were alerted to an incident on a yacht and proceeded to the marina area and went aboard Far From It.

“Once on board, the vessel officers discovered a female unresponsive with visible signs of injuries and a Mexican national close by suffering from severe injuries to his arms. The local doctor who had been called to the scene pronounced the victim deceased.

“As police investigated further, it was discovered that the victim was missing for a short period before being found unresponsive in the engine room with the male suspect.

“We can confirm that a 39-year-old Mexican national will be arraigned before magistrates today, charged with murder, which stems from the death of a 20-year-old South African. She was found on board a vessel at Harbour Island, Eleuthera, on Thursday, July 3.”

Heartbreaking, our thoughts are with her family at this time. RIP.
