WNBA fans have been left heartbroken by the news that Caitlin Clark was ruled out of her second straight Indiana Fever game on Friday night against the Dallas Wings with a left groin injury.
Clark also missed Thursdayâs home game against the Los Angeles Sparks with the same ailment, with Fever fans desperately missing her in a 85-75 defeat to one of the worst teams in the league.
No long-term declaration to Clarkâs health has been made, with Indianaâs following game on Tuesday being the WNBA Commissionerâs Cup Finals against the Minnesota Lynx.
A win against the Lynx would hand the Fever their first trophy since winning the WNBA Championship in 2012, making Clarkâs health for that contest paramount.
Many fans are in the Metroplex for the Feverâs showdown against Paige Bueckers and the Wings, in a matchup of last yearâs rookie phenom, against the biggest first-year player of 2025.
Now, their frustrations of missing out on the first Clark-Bueckers professional matchup and another Clark injury absence have spilled onto social media.

WNBA fans have been left heartbroken by Caitlin Clark missing her second straight Fever game
âWishing Caitlin a speedy recovery. I wonât lie I am pretty heartbroken, but in no way is it her fault. Iâve been wanting to see her play basketball for the past couple of years and this was my first chance. Iâm sure itâll be an amazing game, the fever have a fantastic team,â one WNBA fan said.
âHuge bummer. This will be my daughterâs first WNBA game and weâve been so excited for months. We will still be cheering on the Fever!!!â a second supporter stated.

Caitlin Clark shoved to floor after Fever star exploded on rival
Before Clarkâs second multi-game injury absence of the season, her teammates were rallying around her after a few dismal performances.
Despite Clarkâs injury-return game against the New York Liberty on June 14, after missing five games, and the scrappy contest against the Connecticut Sun a few days later, the WNBA phenomâs usually sharpshooting touch has been anything but ironclad.
Against the Seattle Storm, Clark was 3-for-13 from the field, including an 0-of-6 mark from 3-point range.
In the Feverâs two previous games before Tuesday nightâs victory, Clark combined for a 1-of-17 mark from beyond the arc, an unimaginable two-game line by the lofty standards set by the point guard.
âSheâll be fine. Weâre not worried about it,â Fever teammate Lexie Hull said of Clarkâs form.
Clarkâs previous injury was a quad strain, suffered against the Liberty on May 24.
