Lainey Wilson and Ella Langley Ignite Nashville Stage With Unexpected CMA-Level Collaboration

Lainey Wilson Brings Her Whirlwind World Tour Home To Nashville

Lainey Wilson brought her Whirlwind World Tour to Nashville this week — and the night turned unforgettable when she surprised fans with a special guest: her close friend and fellow rising star Ella Langley.

A Tour That’s Living Up to Its Name

Wilson’s globe-spanning tour has already hit cities from London and Paris to Denver, Bend, and Clarkston, each show celebrating the massive success of her 2024 album Whirlwind. The record features hits like “4x4xU,” “Hang Tight Honey,” and “Good Horses,” her beloved duet with mentor Miranda Lambert.

Following the album’s release, Wilson dropped a deluxe edition in August featuring five new tracks — including her current single “Somewhere Over Laredo.” Inspired by “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” the song’s dreamy video shows Wilson riding through a kaleidoscopic desert on horseback, a perfect reflection of her free-spirited storytelling.

Ella Langley Steps In for Miranda Lambert

At her Nashville stop on October 2, Wilson had something extra special planned. Since Lambert couldn’t join her onstage that night, Wilson asked Ella Langley — the breakout voice behind “You Look Like You Love Me” — to take her place on “Good Horses.”

Fans had no idea Langley was even in the venue. When Wilson suddenly announced her and Langley walked out, the crowd erupted into cheers. Together, the two powerhouse women delivered a stunning version of the duet — their harmonies as warm and wild as the song’s spirit.

Two Country Stars, One Sisterly Bond

Onstage, Wilson and Langley radiated pure joy, grinning through every line as the crowd sang along. Their connection runs deep — both women tied Megan Moroney for the most 2025 CMA nominations with six each, and both are helping define the next generation of country music.

Wilson has been open about her admiration for Langley. Speaking to Country Nights Live earlier this year, she said:

“I love Ella — she’s like a sister to me. I think she’s one of the most talented people in this business. It’s important for me to check in on her and just be there if she needs me.”

That genuine bond was clear in Nashville as they sang “Good Horses” — two artists, two friends, and a room full of fans witnessing something rare and real.
