Lauren Alaina Drops Bombshell Behind-The-Scenes Confession Before CMA Awards Night

Lauren Alaina Is Excited for CMA Night — But Even More Excited for Lainey Wilson

Lauren Alaina is gearing up for a big night at the 2025 CMA Awards, but what she’s most thrilled about isn’t her own job—it’s watching her “Thicc as Thieves” duet partner, Lainey Wilson, take on the role of host.

“I’m so excited,” Alaina told Country Now. “Someone just asked me what I’m looking forward to most, and honestly, it’s seeing Lainey do her thing. She’s going to absolutely crush it. I’m so proud of her.”

Taking On Hosting Duties Herself

While she’s cheering Lainey on, Alaina will also be stepping into a hosting role of her own. She and HaleyyBaylee will team up to co-host “CMA Awards Backstage Live” on the Country Music Association’s official TikTok account.

This special second-screen experience will let fans peek inside Bridgestone Arena all night long—from red carpet arrivals to backstage reactions.

“I’m hosting backstage and giving all the fans a little behind-the-scenes action,” she said, adding that she’s genuinely excited for the gig.

And with a laugh, she added:
“There’s an open bar, so I’m sure I’ll be serving some drinks to my friends.”

A Night Full of Live Moments and Real-Time Reactions

Throughout the night, CMA’s TikTok will go live multiple times, capturing:

Artist interviews

Winner celebrations

Unfiltered backstage moments

All the energy of Country Music’s Biggest Night

Fans will essentially get a VIP pass to everything happening off-camera at the CMAs.

Her Husband’s First CMA Awards Appearance

On top of her hosting duties, the night holds a personal milestone for Alaina: her husband, Cam, will be attending the CMAs for the very first time.

“My husband’s coming for the first time. He’s never been,” she said. “He’s walking the carpet. I can’t wait to see if his eyes stay open in the photos—he’s known for closing them every time.”

Adjusting to Life As a New Mom

Lauren and Cam welcomed their first baby, a daughter named Beni Doll, in June. Alaina shared that motherhood has been full of quick changes, new milestones, and lots of smiles.

“She’s so big—she grows every day,” Alaina said sweetly. “She looks older every time I look at her. She’s rolling over, learning to sit up… and she’s the smiliest baby ever.”

She laughed as she added that Beni is becoming quite the curious (and nosy) little one—especially when it comes to toys that make noise.

How Fans Can Watch the CMAs

While fans catch Lauren Alaina’s TikTok livestream backstage, they can also tune in to watch Lainey Wilson host the 59th CMA Awards live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
