Brad Pitt reportedly wants to repair his relationship with his youngest kids, twins Knox and Vivienne, who turned 17 on July 12.
A source told the Daily Mail that the 61-year-old is “desperate to give it one final shot to get together with them and make amends, even though he knows the chance they’ll agree to spend time with him is remote to say the least.”
The Fight Club star shares six children with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, including Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. “He will always believe and always hope there is a chance to be back with all of them, and he doesn’t want to think otherwise. He doesn’t want to give up, he’s not that kind of guy, he’s not that kind of father. He is a proud father, and he would be happy to have them see that eventually,” the insider said.
The Jolie-Pitt children have been estranged for their father for years, after an incident in 2016 on a private plane that prompted Angelina to file for divorce. According to a court filing, he allegedly “choked one of the children and struck another in the face,” and “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her.” He allegedly also “poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children.”

The alleged incident led to the dissolution of their marriage with the children siding with their mother. Their son Pax called his father a “world-class a–hole” on Father’s Day in 2020, and several of the children, including Vivienne, Shiloh, and Zahara, have dropped Pitt from their last name.
“When Vivienne dropped Pitt from her name, he got the message loud and clear,” the source said, adding that the decision left Brad “totally devastated.” Knox has kept Jolie-Pitt as his last name, giving the F1: The Movie star a “glimmer of hope.”
He apparently does not speak to his children out of respect for their privacy, but has reached out in the past, “praying they’ll give him another chance.” However, Brad wishes his kids would “make the move because he has tried over and over again to get back in their good graces.”
