A popular South Korean K-drama star has died at the age of 31.
It was announced that Kang Seo Ha had died on Monday morning (July 14), with a tribute post on her Instagram page.
The tribute post included a montage of photos and videos of Kang Seo Ha from happier times, crafted by a family member.
Condolences from close friends and family poured in, as they noted how selfless the actress was, even during her battle with ill health.
Her sister wrote: “I still can’t believe it. While enduring such great pain, she worried about the people around her, and about me.
“Even though you couldn’t eat for months, you insisted on paying for my meals with your own card and never let me skip a meal. My angel, who left us far too soon.”
She added: “Even as you endured everything with painkillers, you said you were grateful that it wasn’t worse, and I felt truly ashamed.
“My dear sister, you went through so much. I hope you are only happy and free from pain where you are now!”

Fans of her work from around the world also sent their warm messages and prayers for her family.
One said: “Rest in peace. When I sit by the Han River, I remember the day I met you. I watched the drama… it was great to see it in person. Thank you…
“Even if you are in heaven, you will always be in my memories.”
Another wrote: “I cant believe it, i really loved her and she was a huge inspiration.
“Fly high my love.”
As a third added: “May she rest in peace.”
A funeral for the actress has been organized for Wednesday, and she will be buried in Haman, South Gyeongsang Province, with her family.
Prior to her death, the star had just finished filming In the Net, according to Korean outlet Sports Khan.

The drama is set to be released soon, and fans were highly anticipating her return to the screen, prior to the tragic news.
She studied at Korea National University of Arts, and graduated just before making her professional debut in a ‘Brave Guys’ music video in 2012.
She went onto be a successful K-drama star, featuring in Schoolgirl Detectives, Assembly, Through the Waves, and Flowers of the Prison, among other titles.
It has been reported that the actress was battling cancer for many months.
The extent of the illness was stage 4 acute stomach cancer at the time of her death.
In the post announcing her death, her sister added: “I will always be with you in my everyday life and in my heart.”
Fans are praying that her family is blessed with the strength to deal with such a difficult time.
