Top Trump Administration adviser Stephen Miller, regarded by many as the mastermind behind the mass deportation strategy and the comprehensive approach to immigration that the Trump Administration has pursued thus far, emphasized the significant advantages that mass deportations will bring to various aspects of life.
Miller made these remarks while serving as the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy during an appearance on Fox News, discussing the extensive ICE operations targeting illegal aliens in California and the anticipated benefits of these operations, especially regarding the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
For context, Miller’s statements were made in relation to ICE, which is currently expanding rapidly and has been allocated over $100 billion in funding, collaborating with Customs and Border Patrol and other federal agents to conduct extensive immigration sweeps throughout California, targeting both farms that employ illegal laborers and urban areas, such as parks populated by vagrants and drug dealers. These operations have been substantial and have generated considerable opposition from the left.
In response to this opposition, Miller expressed his views on FNC, asserting that major cities like Los Angeles would experience significant improvements as a result of mass deportations. He began with an illustration of the overcrowded infrastructure, stating, “What would LA look like without illegal aliens? You would be able to see a doctor in the ER right away, no wait time, no problem.”
Furthermore, he pointed out that public schools have also been overwhelmed by illegal aliens and their families, and thus deportations would free up classrooms and enhance the attention students receive from teachers. He remarked, “Your kids would go to a public school that had more money than they know what to do with. Classrooms would be half the size.”
Continuing, he remarked that resisting the criminal gangs that have exploited the open border so extensively and frequently will necessitate transforming even notoriously crime-infested cities like Los Angeles into safe and clean environments devoid of any cartel influence. He stated, “There would be no cartels. There would be no Mexican mafia. There would be no drug-related fatalities. You would reside in a secure city. You would inhabit a clean city.”
Furthermore, he emphasized that a crackdown is entirely warranted, as these cities have been engaging in an “insurrection” against the Trump Administration while cartels are striving to undermine and combat America. He asserted, “California and Los Angeles are conducting insurrection against the federal government. Cartels are waging war against America, and their allies are the Democrat Party.”
Miller also reiterated a point made by Tom Homan, which is that the immigration enforcement is protecting trafficked and abused minors. He remarked, “We visit homes — 13, 14, 15-year-old children who are subjected to sexual assault on a daily basis because the Biden administration, the Democrat Party, opted to traffic them into this nation.”
