Comedian Mike Hanley was reluctant to dance with her daughter, but see what happened when the music played…

A wedding, bat mitzvah, or sweet sixteen party always has a unique moment when the father and daughter dance. When your friends and family gather to see you dance with the first man you ever loved, it is such a sweet moment.

Jessica Hanley made sure that there was plenty of time set aside for a special dance with her father at her bat mitzvah. During the event, Jessica and her father shared a unique dance, and her friends and family gathered around the dance floor to see it. They were, however, in for a huge shock!

At Jessica’s bat mitzvah, the attendees should have known that Jessica and her father Mike wouldn’t settle for a straightforward, conventional dance for their special occasion. As a stand-up comedian, Mike Hanley has been entertaining audiences since 1989.

Before they lit up the dance floor with a wonderful choreographed dance sequence that had their guests cheering and howling with joy, the two began to dance softly to the timeless classic “My Girl” by The Temptations.

I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston started playing shortly after that. As the beat alternated from song to song, everyone in the audience began to chuckle. The music that was played for the audience was a diverse mix of oldies, dance songs, and even rap.

The two never failed to move in time with the various tunes that played over the speakers, showing how much they had trained their dance.

The five-minute dance mashup featured songs like “Mambo No. 5” by Lou Bega, “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga, “Greased Lightnin’” from Grease, “Thriller,” and even “In Da Club” by 50 Cent.

Everyone in attendance at Jessica’s bat mitzvah gave the father-daughter dancing team admiring glances as they tore up the dance floor during the planned mix.

As Mike and Jessica reunited to dance to the song’s coda, “My Girl,” their dance routine came to an end. The father-daughter duo decided to enjoy the moment in a unique way rather than with the customary slow dance because it was such a memorable one.

Since 1989, Mike has been performing stand-up comedy in a variety of settings. He made the decision to put his microphone away and focus solely on spending time with his family around the year 2000. He started to feel the urge to act again in 2011, and ever since then, with the approval of his wife and girls, he has periodically done so at comedy clubs and performances.
