For some hilarious reason, Jennifer Aniston would frequently visit Cher at her home in the ’70s when she was still a child.
During her appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” this week, the legendary singer recalled a humorous moment from their decades-long connection with Aniston and shared it with the audience.
When Clarkson mentioned that she had heard that the two had known one other for a long time, this sparked the beginning of the conversation.
The host of the talk program posed the following question to the guest: “Is it true that Jennifer Aniston would come over to play at your house when she was a little kid in the ’70s?”
“As a teenager, I mean as like a middle teenager. Cher said in response that the woman would “eat me out of house and home.”
The woman, who is now 76 years old, went on to say that Aniston was one of a group of females that used to spend a lot of time at her house in the 1970s. She said that this group of girls included her.
“The girls always did, because they knew when I went to Balducci’s (grocery store), they would just pop up and just eat down. They did this all the time. She said, “And (Aniston) was a big chow down-er.”
Clarkson was not surprised to find that the tale entertained him. “I love it! “I simply find that to be so hilarious,” she exclaimed.
Clarkson was wondering whether or not anyone knew that Aniston was such a brilliant actor at the time, and Cher revealed that the teen was attending the High School of Performing Arts. Clarkson was intrigued as to whether or not anyone knew that Aniston was such a talented actor at the time.
The singer went on to say that she believes it is sometimes best to let the skill of another person speak for itself.
“My mother always introduced me to new people by saying, ‘I have a daughter who sings.’” To which she said, “Well, the moment you say that they just turn (their attention) off.”
After that, Cher went on to tell that her mother had previously tried to convince the owner and manager of Atlantic Records that her daughter was a talented singer, but he dismissed her.
“After that, he signed us, and then we started singing; one night, my mother came in, and he asked Georgia, ‘What are you doing here?’” And then she said, “I told you I have a daughter that sings,” which was very interesting. She has appeared!”
