Lauren Alaina Just Revealed Why Her Daughter’s Name Means ‘Crimson’ and It Has Everything to Do With Her Dad’s Last Goodbye.

Lauren Alaina Reveals the Meaning Behind Her Daughter’s Name, Beni Doll Arnold

Lauren Alaina and her husband, Cameron (Cam) Arnold, have shared the touching inspiration behind their newborn daughter’s unique name: Beni Doll Arnold. On July 1, the country singer took to social media with a heartfelt two-minute video explaining the deep personal meaning behind the name they chose for their little girl.

“Beni Doll Arnold, your name holds so much meaning and love. You’re named after some of the most special people in our lives. I can’t wait to tell you this story one day ❤️,” the couple wrote in their caption.

In the video, Alaina explained that she picked the first name while Cam chose the middle name. The name Beni was chosen to honor both her late grandfather, Benny, and her late father, J.J. Suddeth.

“This is Beni Doll Arnold, our little girl. We each picked a name,” Alaina began. “I chose Beni, named after two amazing men in my life who have passed.”

Her grandfather, Papa Benny, was a major influence during her childhood—he helped raise her, taught her basketball, and even bought her first karaoke machine. “He would’ve told you he’s the reason I got where I am,” she said with a smile.

While the original name “Benny” felt too masculine, the couple worked together to make it more fitting for a baby girl. They settled on “Beni” with an “i,” inspired by a girl Alaina had met years earlier with the same spelling. When she later looked it up, she discovered “Beni” means crimson in Japanese—an unexpected yet meaningful link to her late father, a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. For Alaina, it felt like a message from her dad — his way of saying “Roll Tide” from above.

Cam then shared his choice for the middle name, Doll, as a tribute to his Aunt Lucy Doll Arnold. “She never had children of her own, so it felt right to pass along her name and keep it in the family,” he said. Lucy was born on the Arnold family’s ancestral farm, a home that’s been in the family for over 200 years.

The video closes with the new parents cradling their baby girl, beaming with love. “Pretty cute name,” Cam said, to which Lauren added, “She’s one of a kind. We love it.”

Welcoming Beni Doll Arnold
Beni made her debut on June 11 at 8:44 AM, arriving thirteen days past her due date. She weighed 7 lbs, 13 oz and measured 19 inches long. Alaina shared the news with fans two days later, calling it one of the most powerful moments of her life.

“Parts of my heart I didn’t even know existed were unlocked the moment they laid you on my belly,” she wrote. “You, to your dad and me, are absolute perfection. We are honored God chose us to be your parents.”

A Song for Her Daughter and Her Father
To mark Beni’s arrival, Alaina released a deeply personal new track titled “Heaven Sent,” written in tribute to both her daughter and her late father. “We found out she was coming during one of the hardest times of my life — right after losing my dad,” she shared. “Watching Cam become a father made me want to share this song now.”

Released just before Father’s Day—her first without her own dad—Alaina said the song gave new meaning to the day: “I now have a perfect reason to celebrate it — Beni’s daddy.”

“Heaven Sent,” co-written with HARDY and Ben Johnson, explores the idea of receiving a gift from above after profound loss. It’s a tender expression of grief, love, and faith—perfectly fitting for such a momentous time in her life.

The song follows Alaina’s recent singles, including “All My Exes” (featuring Chase Matthew), “Household,” and “Those Kind of Women.”
