A CELEB WHO SAVED 70 HORSES FROM SLAUGHTER

Horse meat plays an important part in the culinary traditions of many countries in the world. Each year over a hundred thousand horses are slaughtered for consumption. I know this sounds quite surprising but it’s a sad reality of the world we live in.

Many activists and non-government organizations have fought against the slaughtering of horses. Out of all, there’s a person who was known well for his contribution towards saving the lives of these innocent creatures. He is an American singer named Willie Nelson.

Willie Nelson was very famous in America during the late 1960s; he was well known as a singer who revolutionized country outlaw music. Apart from music, his only hobby was spending time with his horses on the ranch which he owned himself.

His ranch was a 700-acre land which was situated in the Hill country. And what’s special about this place is that all 70 horses living there are ones who were saved from slaughter.

He even wrote a letter to the Senate of the USA demanding the ban on slaughtering horses.

Once he uttered the following in a television interview “My horses are probably the luckiest horses in the world,” Nelson added. “They get hand-fed twice a day, and they were just ready to go to slaughter is probably the last thing they remembered, so they’re happy horses.”

He even believes that his ranch brings him luck, where he said “When you’re here, you’re in luck, and when you’re not, you’re out of luck.”

But unfortunately, animal slaughtering isn’t banned yet. So let’s hope for it to get banned one day and let’s wish Willie Nelson and his fellow activists to have all the strength they need to fight against this evil practice of humans.
