Fans have been left stunned after discovering that actor Owen Wilson has a brother… and he’s famous too!
Owen might be one of the most well-loved stars for his charming and comedic roles… so it’s no wonder people were shocked to find out he has a similarly successful younger sibling they never knew existed.
Fans have been left gobsmacked after a TikTok by user Jemma McCarthy (@jemmamccarthy_) went viral, showing her reacting to images of Owen Wilson AND his recognizable sibling.
McCarthy added an overlay text reading: “I was today years old when I realized this guy is Owen Wilson’s brother.”
Of course, the person she was referring to is none other than Luke Wilson, known for his roles in movies like Legally Blonde, Old School, and the early 2000s Charlie’s Angels reboot, as well as many other huge credits.
She shared her shock at this crucial bit of information having passed her by thus far, adding: “TELL ME IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT JUST CLOCKED!?!?
“Luke Wilson from Legally Blonde n Look Both Ways is bros with the legend Owen Wilson.. guess the name gives it away.”
Thankfully for McCarthy, she was far from the only one who hadn’t made the connection, as viewers commented: “But why does this make so much sense, I always thought they looked related.”
Others added: “Now I know why he looks so familiar […] Never thought about they are brothers,” and: “This is brand new information.”

However, the family connection wasn’t news to some, who joked: “Girl where you been?”, and: “Girllll what!! […] Everyone knows they brothers. They talk exactly the same.”
Another added: “You must be really young,” while someone else joked: “How did y’all not know? Me and my friends used to call him the hot one.”
One revealed that they’d accidentally come to the realization while watching Legally Blonde, explaining: “I knew because I was watching legally blonde once not paying bc attention and could’ve sworn i heard owen wilson’s voice so i had to google [sic].”
In fact, speaking to Today back in 2022, Owen revealed that he and Luke had actually become roommates in Atlanta while working on different projects.
Revealing what it was like to once again live with his brother, Owen admitted: “It was fun. It all comes rushing back to you, what you love about the guy and then what can also drive you crazy.”
And it gets even better – they also have yet another famous brother – Andrew Wilson.

Andrew, who is an actor and director, has appeared in movies such as 2009’s Whip It, Hall Pass in 2011, and 2017’s Time Tramp.
Owen even revealed that his big brother Andrew helped him after attempting to take his own life in 2007, revealing to Esquire in 2021 that Andrew “stayed in his house with him” afterward and would wake up with him “each morning” and “[write] up little schedules for each day so that life seemed at first manageable and then, at some point, a long time later, actually good.”
