The world’s longest cat in the Guinness World Records

Barivel lives with his family in Italy and is ‘brutal’

A cat from Italy has been recognized as the longest living cat on the planet and is “enjoying” its place in the Guinness World Records.

Barivel is 1.2 meters tall and lives with his people in Pavia. He is a Maine Coon and, despite his size, is very quiet and shy, according to Guinness World Records officials who posted pictures of the cat on the official

His favorite foods are tuna and chicken.

“He is a very special cat for us” when others see him they are shocked but for us he is a gift…a big gift!” jokes his caretaker, Edgar Scandurra. In the local dialect, Barivel will mean “clown”.
