These guys are not people you want to mess with.
Want to see what a cool gang looks like?
Just look for a group of traveling lions.
You don’t want to get into trouble with that group.
They look like they mean business and won’t put up with nonsense at all.
National Geographic says that lions are known as signs of bravery and strength.
You can hear their roars from more than 5 miles away.
Watching MoMedia’s YouTube video will show you how scary they look.
There are about a dozen of them in the video, and their manes make them look mostly like men.
As they walk toward a car, they take up the whole street.
Even though there is a population of solitary lions, lions are the only type of cat that lives in groups, called prides.
The number of lions in a pride can range from two to forty.
Usually, this pride has three or four male lions, a dozen female lions, and their cubs.
Most of those females are related because female cubs stay with their group. The males will leave to start their own pride. They do this by taking over a pride that is being led by another male.
Only the toughest and most brave men try this.
The new male leader will sometimes kill the youngest cubs in the pride so that he and his wife can start their own families. Males mark their territory with urine to keep other males away from their pride. They will also do their well-known roars to scare people away.
Some people were surprised to see only men in MoMedia’s video, which more than 3 million people watched.
“It’s strange to see so many males in one pride. “Must be a huge source of pride, unless it was the morning after a night out with the guys,” said one YouTuber.
“I just can’t get over how beautiful and different each one of them is. They really have their own expressions on their faces. And they might be connected. “I don’t know, but some of them look very young and others have ages on them, so they could be Father, son, cousin, nephew, etc.,” said another.
This group might be what people call a “coalition.”
It’s a group of male lions, called “bachelors.”
And the people in MoMedia’s video look and act like a coalition. Animal Facts Encyclopedia says that some male lions will never join a pride and will never get married.
“There wasn’t a single woman in that parade. That is terrifying. At least none of them seemed aggressive, just curious,” someone said on YouTube.
Another person jokingly added:
“I was just there to try out for the role of Simba in the upcoming Lion King remake.”
One thing everyone agreed on was that these lions look terrifying.
