Duck Completes New York City Marathon While Wearing Adorable Webbed Running Shoes

Spectators at last year’s New York City Marathon were treated to a rare and adorable sight: a duck wearing a specially designed pair of webbed running shoes.

Every year, more than 50,000 people participate in the marathon, making it the largest of its kind in the world. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s figure was closer to 33,000.

But last year, a charming emotional support duck named Wrinkle competed in the marathon.

“Wrinkle the duck is more than just a lovely Pekin duck,” the owners, New York City artists Justin Wood and Joyce Kung, say.

She’s like fully formed human adult, not a baby anymore. A quick runner. A fast person, she is. Quite simply, she is lightning fast. Wrinkle is her name. This duck boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

“I finished the New York City Marathon!” “Wrinkle” updates their Instagram account. The next year, I will improve even farther! “I’d like to thank everyone who cheered for me out there in humans

As the 50th running of the race took place in New York City on November 7, 2021, Wrinkle gained attention as she waddle-ran through the streets.

Runners and spectators alike cheered for the small duck, who was being watched by several cameras the whole time.

Even more intriguing were the little, crimson shoes that Wrinkle wore. Wood and Kung state that they used a scuba-gear-like, waterproof, soft material to make Wrinkle the booties.

Wood tells the running magazine, “Everyone’s asking about the shoes.” So we’re considering attempting to get them out there in a big way by mass production.

As a result, media depicting the incident and Wrinkle’s participation have been widely shared on social media.

The duck has gained international notice, with posts on social media receiving millions of views, responses, and comments.

You may follow along with Wrinkle’s travels on social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. In addition, you may purchase Wrinkle-themed merchandise from an online store.
