There are many dangerous jobs in the world, but sometimes we forget just how risky they can be when we get used to the daily grind.
For example, blue collar jobs like being a brick layer, an electrician or a carpenter – all of these jobs require a lot of skill and awareness of your surroundings so that you don’t get hurt.
Unfortunately, though, one man from California would accidentally create one of the most bizarre human conditions simply because he bumped his shoulder.
The elderly electrician is still suffering from damage to his eyes after being zapped by 14,000 volts of electricity while at work.
Weirdly, this caused his eyes to have actual stars inside of them due to the current flow and damage to the optic nerve.
The man from California went on to develop cataracts – an eye disease – after the high voltage current passed through his body during the work-related accident.
But how exactly did he do it?
He bumped his shoulder into a live wire, which surged through him and his optic verve – what connects the eyes to the brain.

But strangely, it led to star-shaped electrical burns in his eyes, according to The New England Journal of Medicine.
An associate professor of clinical ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego, treated the unnamed patient and went on to talk to NBC News about the incident.
Dr Bobby Korn said: “The extreme current and voltage that passed through this important natural wire caused damage to the optic nerve itself.”
A picture of his eyes circulated around X (formerly Twitter) and people were confused about whether it was real or not.
One person knew a little about the case and commented: “It looks like those eyes are on a dead body, but yes miraculously, he lived, he ain’t even blind, just bad vision.

“Looks like they were able to fix the cataracts, unfortunately tho, he still might gradually lose sight. He’s one lucky person.”
Another asked: “I know it’s a silly question but could he still see?” while someone else joked: “If he doesn’t have X-Ray vision, what was the point?”
The general theme online was that everyone was glad that the electrician was alive and doing well, even though his eyes were damaged from the electrical current.
A commenter was pleased that he was able to see: “Increíble that he didn’t became blind after that accident.”
And here’s a comment just for the comedic value: “How can he see if he doesn’t have pupils.”
Dear reader, he does in fact still have pupils.
