Gypsy Rose Blanchard wants to ‘unite forces’ with Kim Kardashian on prison reform following release

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has revealed she is hoping to team up with Kim Kardashian to work on prison reform together now that she’s a free woman.

The now-32-year-old was released on December 28 after serving eight years behind bars for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard in 2015.

While her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn was sentenced to life in prison for committing the murder, Gypsy Rose was given 10 years but was allowed to leave prison early, having served eight.

She has now revealed that one of her plans on the outside is to “unite forces” with Kim Kardashian in order to help make a change within the justice system.

The pair’s first interaction came after Kim shared a list of her recommended true crime documentaries on her Instagram story, which featured one called Mommy Dead And Dearest, charting the story of Gypsy Rose and Dee Dee.

Gypsy Rose shared a screenshot of the post, circling her documentary, as she told her followers: “Thanks
@kimkardashian for the shout out within this list to my 2017 documentary ‘HBO’s Mommy Dead and Dearest.’

“Maybe we should unite forces together to make real change within the justice system.”

And while TMZ claims a meeting has yet to happen between the two of them since Gypsy originally shared the post at the end of November, they state that the former inmate is still keen to make it happen as she “feels they are a good fit” given her experience of the justice system.

Sources told the outlet that Gypsy Rose also wants to pick Kim’s brain on how best to utilize her newfound platform on social media in order to make a real change and advance her advocacy work.

TMZ also claims that Gypsy Rose “genuinely wants to use her platform for prison reform”, which is something she is planning to focus on as she starts her life on the outside.

Kim is not the only famous face that Gypsy Rose is hoping to meet now that she’s a free woman, however, as she is also a huge fan of Taylor Swift and had been hoping to run into her at the Kansas City Chiefs’ New Year game.

Sadly, that meet-up didn’t go to plan as Gypsy Rose was reportedly ordered to leave the state of Missouri by her parole officer before she was able to attend, despite having had tickets “for months”.

Regardless, Gypsy Rose has been making the most of her newfound freedom by spending time with her family as well as her husband, Ryan Anderson, whom she married while she was incarcerated.

The couple have been sharing a series of loved-up posts after finally being able to spend an extended time together since her release.
