Will Smith issues serious message to followers who refuse to watch his new film after Chris Rock’s slap at the Oscars

We haven’t seen much of Will Smith since that oh-so-dramatic Oscars night earlier this year. Aside from the apologetic posts, We’re talking about when Will stepped up on stage and smacked Chris Rock in front of the audience, both on-screen and off. His supporters are still upset with him and have decided not to watch his new film. So Will Smith sent them a note of sympathy.

Will Smith faced a barrage of criticism from his fans, family, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences following the Oscars, yes, the night Will Smith smacked Chris Rock on live television. He was barred from attending the Academy Awards for ten years for inappropriate behavior.

He has issued a few apologies and has kept to himself since then to let the dust settle. However, he has since finished filming as one of the principal characters in the film “Emancipation.” Will Smith addressed his fans who are still sore from the Rock slap in a YouTube interview. Will stated in the video that he is aware that many people may not be ready to watch one of his films, and he intends to give them time.

“I entirely understand that if someone is not ready, I would definitely respect that and allow them their space to not be ready,” he replied when asked how his fans could respond to his new film. My primary interest is my team, you understand? Antoine Fuqua [the director] has done, in my opinion, the best work of his career… “This team’s members have produced some of their greatest work throughout their careers.”

Will Smith went on to explain that he wants everyone to look behind his terrible actions in the past. He commented on how much skill and effort went into this production and how everyone involved deserved to be recognized.

“My primary worry is my team,” he stated. “The folks on this team have done some of the greatest work of their lives.” And my biggest wish is that my actions do not harm my team. So that’s what I’m aiming toward at the moment. That’s exactly what I’m aiming for. “I’m hopeful that the content, the strength of the film, the timeliness of the tale—that the good that can be done would, at the very least, open people’s hearts to notice, acknowledge, and support the wonderful artists in and surrounding this picture.”

Antoine Fuqua directed “Emancipation,” and Will Smith played a major role. Antoine hopes that people will look past the past and respect Will and everyone else engaged in the film’s production. “To me, the film is more than that moment. Slavery spans 400 years and is more than a single event.”My goal is that people would view it that way, see the film, and be blown away by Will’s fantastic performance and all of the hard work that the entire team put in.”

Will Smith’s latest film is about slavery, and he claims it will provide insight into why he hit Chris Rock in the first place. The plot is forceful, nasty, and heartbreaking all at the same time. Antoine believes it had a greater impact on Will Smith than we thought.

“It’s quite difficult to unleash a character who has been brutalized and called the N-word every day—cconsistently, every day—aand yet be the kindest guy in the world. that I am aware of. So, no excuses for anyone or anything, but I can say he’s a wonderful man, and I hope people will forgive him and we can go on. I hope Chris and Will can sit down together, publicly or privately, and make atonement. “It would be a fantastic statement, in my opinion.”
