A leopard never changes its spots and that’s certainly true of Piers Morgan, who can’t seem to let go of his obsession with Meghan Markle.
It is now 2024 yet the TalkTV host, 58, apparently had nothing better to discuss than a two-year-old feud with the Duchess of Sussex, 42, and her husband Prince Harry, 39.
Perhaps it is not surprising as the Uncensored presenter has long been one of the couple’s biggest critics and even lost his job at Good Morning Britain when he stormed off after being challenged about his views of the Suits actress.
This time, on The Breakfast Club, Piers drudged up the past when he was asked about whether he had any regrets over comments he made about Meghan’s mental health.
In 2021, he said he ‘didn’t believe’ anything Meghan said after she revealed she’d suffered suicidal thoughts while serving as a royal in the UK, comments that sparked uproar from mental health charities with Ofcom.
Meghan also said she asked ‘the institution’, aka Buckingham Palace, for help with her mental health, but said they refused to let her have psychiatric treatment.

Doubling down on his comment today (Thursday January, 18), Piers said: ‘I did not believe that happened. So what’s happened since? This was over two years ago right. Ever since then, there has not been not a single shred of evidence or a name of that person produced.’
Piers also said he didn’t believe, as Meghan previously said, that two members of the royal family, later alleged to be King Charles and Kate Middleton, made comments about her son Archie’s skin colour.
He ranted: ‘For two years the rotal family have been accused of being callous racists, of not caring about a young woman’s suicidal thoughts, brazenly. I said I don’t believe those things happened.’

It’s hard to keep track of all the swipes Piers has made about the couple, but they include – deep breath – calling their Netflix documentary ‘worse than the Kardashians’, slamming Prince Harry for attending his own father’s Coronation and describing the Spare author as a ‘weapons-grade hypocrite.’
A long-held fan theory is that Piers’ relentless vitriol towards Meghan and the root of his dislike for her stems from the fact that he ‘fancied’ her and that she ‘ghosted’ him before she wed Prince Harry.
Despite his criticism, Pier said he would like to interview Harry and Meghan (Picture: Vianney Le Caer/Piers Morgan Uncensored/REX/Shutterstock)
Piers himself addressed the rumours on X, writing in 2022: ‘All the trolls raging that I only criticise Meghan Markle because I “fancied” her & then got upset when she ghosted me… have reminded me that I forgot to publicly wish my wife Celia a happy birthday yesterday. (And yes, she knows she lucked out…. 🤣.’
However, he did last year admit that he wanted to have the chance to interview Meghan and Harry.
‘I’d be quite good in training Meghan and Harry to be proper people again,’ he told Spencer Matthews on his Big Fish podcast.
