Carrie Underwood Hesitated Meeting Husband Who Kissed Her on 1st Date — He Calls Her ‘Best’ Wife 12 Years Later

Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher recently celebrated 12 years together. However, Underwood’s doubts almost got in the way of them being together.

Carrie Underwood and her hockey-layer husband Mike Fisher celebrated 12 years of marriage. The couple kept the celebration low-key, but they are always vocal about their love for each other on social media.

Fisher recently showed his wife some love on her birthday and Mother’s day. The hockey player expressed how much he appreciates and loves his wife, and he did not forget to mention how much of an incredible mother she is to their two boys.

Time flies when you are having fun; Fisher could not believe he had been married for 11 years until that point. He shared a picture from his wedding for his 11th anniversary and expressed that time had just flown by.

The Hockey player ended the caption by saying Underwood was the best partner he could ever imagine.

Underwood also showed her appreciation for Fisher on Father’s day. The country singer said she and their sons were lucky to have him. For Valentine, Underwood posted a throwback picture to tell her Canadian hockey player how much she loves him.

In the first six months of their marriage, Underwood and Fisher were apart.
Underwood and Fisher have a special connection, but they have also gone through a lot for their relationship to be successful. Underwood doubted giving her husband of 12 years a chance.

HOW CARRIE UNDERWOOD MET HER LOVE

Underwood did not intend to be in a long-distance relationship or even saw herself getting married anytime soon. But when her friend, Mark Childer, set her with a handsome Canadian athlete, she was still skeptical.

The singer was reluctant about the blind date because she was afraid of any awkwardness, so she suggested they meet backstage at one of her concerts.

Underwood was wrong about the encounter being awkward. Their physical chemistry was undeniable, and the singer liked what she saw.

She texted Childers back with the update, “Hot, hot hot.” And Fisher said Underwood was more beautiful in person than on television.

Their first date did not happen until three months later. Underwood lived in Tennessee and Fisher in Canada; besides the distance, they also had busy work schedules.

The singer and hockey player had their first date in 2008 on New Year’s eve. Underwood pulled an unexpected move when she made Fisher kiss her in public. The singer said she thought to take the risk because he was less likely to reject in front of people.

Underwood’s move worked because, by 2009, the coupe was in a whirlwind of romance. In December 2009, Fisher proposed to the singer at his home on a Sunday afternoon, and she said yes!

The couple was excited about their new adventure; Fisher even gushed over his fiance on the media and said, “It’s true. We are both obviously excited and very happy.

THE COUPLES MARRIAGE AND LONG-AWAITED BLESSINGS

Underwood and Fisher were apart in the first six months of their marriage. Their careers demanded them to be in different places. The singer had to be Nashville while Fisher played for the Ottawa Senators, the team that first drafted him 13 years ago.

But Underwood was not bothered by the distance; she knew they were two independent adults with jobs. She said, “We’re both independent people, so we can’t have somebody around 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

Above all else, the singer was very secure in her marriage; she added, “I don’t have to worry about Mike. He’s going out? I don’t care; it doesn’t bother me. I don’t bat an eye.”

After the long-distance marriage, Underwood and Fisher settled down and welcomed their first child together. Isaiah Michael was born on February 27, 2015.

In 2019 the couple welcomed their second son Jacob Bryan on January 23, 2019; however, Underwood opened up about experiencing three miscarriages before her second son.

The loss was devastating, but the singer stayed strong for her family. After welcoming Jacob, Underwood reflected on the painful time and said;

“I guess you wait for things to stop hurting at some point. I will always mourn those children, those lives that were a shooting star, a breath of smoke, but I have Jacob, and he is incredible, he is the sweetest little baby,”

Underwood and Fisher are doting parents to their two sons and are grateful to have their sons despite all that has happened.
