Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” performance with famous friends during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction stole the show

On Saturday, Dolly Parton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (November 5). Parton was initially hesitant to be inducted, and she even sought to withdraw from consideration at one point. But she finally warmed up to the concept and has pledged to record a rock album.

“I think I’m now a rock star!” Parton made the announcement during the induction ceremony in Los Angeles.

During the ceremony, Parton sang a new song called “Rockin’.” She also joined several of her renowned pals for an epic rendition of “Jolene.”

She was joined onstage by Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Pat Benatar, Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon, and Eurythmics’ Annie Lenox. Sheryl Crow, P!nk, Brandi Carlile, and the Zac Brown Band also performed.

Later, Zac Brown commented on what it was like to perform alongside Parton at the event. “It was a pleasure to serve as @dollyparton’s backup band for last night’s 37th Annual #RockHall2022 induction ceremony,” he stated.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was televised. The show will premiere on HBO on Saturday, November 19 at 8 p.m. ET.

But you don’t have to wait till then to see Parton and her band perform “Jolene.” One audience member recorded the performance and uploaded it to YouTube, which you can see here.

Congratulations to Dolly Parton and all of this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honorees!
