At one time, Linda Evans was the talk of the town due to the fact that she starred in an unending stream of television programs and appeared in plenty of films during the course of her career. She became well-known in the 1960s for her role as Audra Barkley in the Western television series “The Big Valley,” which ran from 1965 through 1969 and was shown on television. After that, she was cast as Krystle Carrington in an episode of the primetime soap opera “Dynasty,” which aired in the 1980s. This performance is what she is most known for. Evans served in this capacity from 1981 to 1989.
The birth of the actress took place in Hartford, Connecticut, on November 18th, 1942. Evans’s mother and father both had successful careers as dancers, so it was inevitable that she would follow in their footsteps and become involved in the performing arts. When Evans and her family relocated to North Hollywood when she was just six months old, it felt like a lot of time had passed very quickly. She started attending acting lessons as she got older and met others who would go on to have successful careers. As time went on, she continued to focus on honing all of her acting abilities in preparation for a future as a professional performer.
Evans got his start in the entertainment industry in the year 1960 and proceeded to amass more and more credits right up to the late 1990s. She may be most recognized for her work on television, but she has also appeared in a number of films throughout the course of her career. However, with the exception of a few cameos in which she portrayed herself, the actress was mostly inactive during the bulk of the 2000s and 2010s. In more recent years, though, she has staged something of a return. Even today, in her 80s, Evans is demonstrating that she is every bit as brilliant, gorgeous, and young as she was in her youth.
Taking acting school was Evans’ first step on the path that ultimately led to her being the well-known actress that she is today. At first, it was a straightforward method for assisting the young lady in overcoming her timidity. In later years, it became very evident that acting had developed into something that was very important to Evans, and she had the talent and commitment necessary to pursue it to the fullest. When she began to make a reputation for herself in Hollywood, she even went so far as to alter her surname, going from Evenstad to Evans.
A shift was on the horizon, which was excellent news for the ambitious actress. Evans later became well-known for her parts in “The Big Valley” and “Dynasty,” the latter of which she has characterized as being her “dream job.” She persevered, and finally she was successful. Evans shared her reaction to the news that “Dynasty” will be returning for a fourth season by saying, “I was so ecstatic that I broke into tears!”
Evans was honored with a number of honors and nominations for her performance as Krystle Carrington on the television series “Dynasty,” which she starred in during its original run. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Drama Series every year from 1981 to 1985, and she won the award for that category in 1981. In 1982, she was awarded the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Female Performer in a New TV Program, and in 1984 and 1985, she was honored with the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. In both of those years, she won the award.
Evans, when asked by ABC News about her time spent filming “Dynasty,” said that the strain was “too tremendous.” However, as soon as she departed, she had a greater sense of independence. She elaborated by stating that she enjoyed the experience of “not putting on makeup and just being a normal person.”
Evans, who is now in her 80s, is still a highly prominent actress and has even made a comeback to acting in the years after her retirement. She had a role in the German television series “Das Traumschiff” in the year 2020. This is a series that takes place on a ship and involves dramatic plots that often have a very joyful conclusion. Evans has a starring role in the film “Swan Song,” which was released in 2021.
According to an article published in People, Evans relocated to a more remote part of Washington state following the conclusion of “Dynasty” a few years after the show’s conclusion. In the end, she chose to quit searching for job, but several years later, in 2019, she made the decision to start seeking again. It was at this time that she came across the screenplay for “Swan Song,” and she immediately boarded a flight to Ohio to begin filming her first movie in over two decades.
In an interview given in 2021, Evans discussed the more carefree way of life that she had adopted, saying:
“I’ve never been happier in all of my years on this planet. I have created a space for myself that I really like being in. When the rest of the world is in disarray, this place is ideal for getting away from it all.
Evans has a lot to rejoice about despite the fact that it does not seem that she is currently working on any projects. On November 18, 2022, she reached the age of 80, and she commemorated the day by uploading a gorgeous photo on her Instagram account. This is what the actress wrote in the post’s caption:
This is the number 80! My spirit is overflowing, and the depth of my appreciation is beyond measure. I am very appreciative of each and every one of your birthday greetings. This life is a gift, and so many of you play a significant role in bringing that gift to fruition!
In an interview with BUNTE magazine, Evans said, “The number is high, but I consider getting older as an experience.” I can’t wait to find out what more is in store for us. The actress continued by saying, “I have cherished every moment and every obstacle that has come my way in my life.” I’ve been through a lot of hardship, but I’m proud of it.
