Princess Anne, the lone child of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, has led a quieter and more private life than many of her nieces and nephews. She primarily posts official images and pre-approved stories to her social media pages, so the public rarely gets a glimpse into her personal life.
However, Anne is reportedly one of the senior royals with the busiest schedules. She is renowned for her style as well. Like many other royals, the media frequently covers her outfits, especially her jewelry. This time, the subject of curiosity is Anne’s unique engagement ring, which has drawn interest from admirers all over the world.
She has had two marriages; her first was to Mark Phillips in 1973. Princess Anne, the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s only daughter, was born on August 15, 1950. Although she is presently 16th in line to the throne, she was third in line to the throne at the time of her birth, behind her mother, who was not yet queen, and her older brother King Charles III. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Prince Edward, Early of Wessex all had an elder sister named Anne.
She was the first of her three siblings to get married, wed Captain Mark Phillips in 1973. Tatler claims that the two connected at a horse riding enthusiast event in Mexico City. Despite the fact that they were rarely seen together, their strained relationship was widely reported because to rumors that they were both having extramarital affairs (Anne dated Camilla, Queen Consort of the United Kingdom’s then-husband, Andrew Parker-Bowles). In April 1992, their divorce was legally formalized. Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall are two of the princess and Phillips’s children.
Anne also wore an unusual engagement ring during her first marriage. Laurence gave her a cabochon sapphire that is set on a simple gold band and has little diamonds on either side of it.
After her first marriage fell apart, Anne was fortunate to fall in love again and wed Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence on December 12, 1992, at Crathie Kirk in Scotland. They don’t share any biological children.
It’s possible that many people are unaware of Anne’s near-kidnapping experience. On March 20, 1974, there was an attempt to abduct the princess. A short while after she wed her first husband, she was attacked.
Anne described coming face to face with Ian Ball, an armed man. He opened the door, and we sort of had a “conversation” about whether or not we should go anywhere, according to Anne. It would “be lot better if he just went away and we’d all forget about it,” she argued, adding that.
Ball made an attempt to leave the area, but cops stopped him. The plan to hold the princess as hostage for around $4 million was then made public.
It’s obvious that Anne has lived a very interesting life, and at 72 years old, the Princess Royal shows no signs of slowing down. In 2019, she completed more than 500 engagements. Anne acknowledged that she overbooked herself but said that she didn’t necessarily have the usual notion of retiring.
Anne replied, “I don’t think retirement is quite the same for me. Most people would say that since we are not in that circumstance, we are incredibly fortunate because you wouldn’t want to just stop. It largely depends on the organizations you work with and their assessment of your continued relevance.”
She has been associated with Save the Children for more than 50 years and is very active in humanitarian organizations. In 1990, Anne was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
